Sometimes we face what appear to be insurmountable obstacles in our journey through this life. The loss of a loved one, a job, or a relationship for example can drive us to dark places, balancing on the edge of despair.
However, buried in these dark moments, we can find flashes of light that offer opportunities for growth. Opportunities to reflect on the choices we can make in response to life’s challenges. We can choose to continue driving the road of despair and isolation, refusing to seek God’s reconciliation. We can choose to drive a road paved with grace, that is, to drive “under the influence” of God’s favor and beneficence.
Scripture assures us that God provides for even the smallest needs of His creatures; therefore, we need not fear life’s journey. He gives us grace to move forward through moments of loss and challenges that present each day until we ultimately drive down the Streets of Gold.
Reflection: What road are you choosing to drive today?
